Bruce
Polatnick, Executive Vice President, Business Development & Marketing
Bruce was the founder of Garmex, Inc. a venture catalyst/marketing strategist company. In
1987, Mr. Polatnick conceived of and founded a company specializing in a pre-Internet
on-line database network for apparel wholesalers. In 1996, his company partnered with
Softech, a public company, to develop an Internet version of the system. In the late 1970s
he was Chief Executive of the Scottish Council For Development and Industry.
Bruce also
founded an international import/export company for apparel, food and electronics products
in countries such as Swaziland, Argentina, and Nepal for companies such as Jordache,
Federated, Saks, Neiman Marcus and The Limited.
Bruce obtained his M.B.A. from Pace University (N.Y.) and B.A. English from Tulane
University (New Orleans).
James
Johnstone, Executive Vice President, International Sales and Business Development
James has worked in many emerging markets including China and the Middle East. He has
worked with Arthur D. Little, Egon Zehnder International (London, Tokyo and New York) and
Heidrick and Struggles. In the late 1970s he was Chief Executive of the Scottish Council
For Development and Industry. He later became Executive Assistant to Robert Maxwell,
Chairman of Pergamon Press and subsequently was appointed to head a technical publishing
data based systems division of Pergamon. Throughout the 1990s Mr. Johnstone has spent
substantial time in China joining a major American/Chinese conglomerate where he was
appointed Managing Director of First Shanghai Corporation. Moreover, he has been involved
as a principal in ventures related to risk management software and Internet multimedia.
James
earned a Masters (Honors) in Economics from Edinburgh University and an MBA from Harvard
University, which he attended on scholarships from the St. Andrews Society of New York and
Shell International.
Cary Ng, Vice President, Finance and Administration
Cary is a senior finance executive with international experience. Cary was the Chief
Financial Officer and VP Finance of a Canadian public company which has two joint-venture
factories in China and a wholly owned subsidiary in Thailand, and was director of two
Sino-Canadian joint ventures. Cary Ng has over 17 years of experience as a senior
executive in industries such as manufacturing and distribution of industrial minerals,
retailing of consumer electronics, financial leasing, software development and health
care. In addition, he had a consulting practice focusing in system design and
implementation, process re-engineering, financing and Sino-foreign joint ventures.
Cary was
trained as a Chartered Accountant with a major international accounting firm after
obtaining his M.B.A. in Canada.
Rick
Smets, Vice President, Advanced Research & Development
Rick has practiced as a consultant in systems development. He has developed a variety of
systems including positioning systems, factory networks, measurement instruments,
telephone answering equipment and aircraft instruments. He managed a number of development
groups including leading one in England that developed one of the first network file
servers. Prior to that he was the Director of Research and Development at Q1 Corp
overseeing the development of the first desktop office computer.
Rick earned
a BS in Electrical Engineering from Oregon State University and a MS in Computer Science
from New York University.
Jimmy
Jiang, Vice President, Product Research and Development
Jimmy has over 15 years of experience in research, development, and management in
industries including Internet and web site design, Time attendance and Human resource
software systems, and Highway Traffic control systems.
Jimmy
graduated with a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from New York Institute of
Technology.
K. T.
Lee, Managing Director, Asia Pacific Operations
KT has worked in construction management for several major infrastructure projects in Hong
Kong and South East Asia including the Plover Cover Water Scheme, the East-West Kowloon
Corridor, the New World Center, and the Cross Harbor Tunnel.
KT finished
his Civil Engineering education.
Ross T.
M. Lim, Managing Director, Singapore/Malaysia/Thailand
Ross was
the founder of Millennium IT Pte. Ltd., an IT company that focused on Y2K solutions and
holds the international distribution rights to "Y2K PASS!" firmware cards.
Ross
possesses extensive commercial experience in the South East Asian and Mainland China
markets.
Andrew
Weiss, Director, Linux and Network Development
Andrew has extensive experience in deploying, maintaining, and working with the hardware
development aspects of Linux, *BSD, and Darwin/MacOS X installations.
Andrew obtained his Bachelors of Science with Thesis from the University of Delaware.
David
Lee, Senior Manager, Industrial Design
David was a consultant with Krent-Paffett Associates, an exhibit design firm in Boston.
David
earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design with a concentration in consumer products
from the Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Ramon
Woo, Senior Manager, Art Direction
Ramon is a multi-disciplinary designer with extensive identity, print, product and web
design background. Heavily involved in the world of arts, Ramon held various positions in
the Museum of Modern Art, Koury Wingate Gallery, Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center, and the
Gagosian Gallery in New York.
Ramon
received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College with a major in Multimedia Studio
Art.
